The government appreciates the contribution of women – Maria Mwinyi

The wife of the President of Zanzibar, Msarifu and the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Zanzibar Maisha Bora Foundation (ZMBF) Hon.Mama Mariam Mwinyi has said that the Government will continue to recognize and appreciate the contribution of Women and involve them in the decision-making process and develop development in the country.

Mama Mariam Mwinyi said this at the Women’s Economic Empowerment and Involvement event in Zanzibar through the Brave Woman program organized by the Coca Cola Kwanza company in collaboration with Oryx Gas Tanzania, the Zanzibar Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) and the Zanzibar Economic Empowerment Agency (ZEEA) ) in the grounds of Maisara, Western Urban Region on April 20, 2024.

In addition, Mama Mariam Mwinyi has explained that the Government led by the President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council Hon. Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi recognizes and respects the great contribution made by women entrepreneurs including Mamalishe who are a large group of self-employed women providing food service in the country.

Mama Mariam Mwinyi has given an opinion to various organizations and civil organizations to develop the process of participation and economic empowerment of women in achieving the goals of community development.

On the other hand, Mama Mariam Mwinyi has handed over 450 gas stoves and their cylinders, 450 stove tables, 450 soda crates as well as 1350 more aprons, the help provided by the Coca-Cola Company in collaboration with other development stakeholders including the Oryx Energies Company, Zanzibar Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) together with the Citizen Economic Empowerment Agency (ZEEA).
