Elder Malecela is a treasure of knowledge and patriotism – Dr Mwinyi

The President of Zanzibar and the Chairman of the Revolutionary Council Hon. Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi has said that Leaders and Tanzanians are learning a lot from the history of the work of Elder John Samwel Malecela in the various positions he held in the Government and the Revolutionary Party and he will continue to be an important treasure of knowledge and patriotism in this country.

President Dr. Mwinyi said this in the celebration of the 90th birthday of Hon. Elder John Samwel Malecela, Prime Minister and Vice President Retired of the United Republic of Tanzania held at his home in Uzunguni in Dodoma on April 21, 2024.

In addition, President Dr. Mwinyi has congratulated Elder John Samwel Malecela for reaching that age and has asked God to continue to grant him long life and good health.

President Dr. Mwinyi has explained that Tanzanians will continue to benefit from his prudence, wisdom, and advice in bringing development to our country and his great experience that Mzee Malecela has in leadership, politics and international diplomacy.

Various leaders of the Government, the Revolutionary Party and Religion have attended including the retired Prime Minister Hon. Cleopa Msuya, retired Prime Minister Frederick Sumaye, Vice Chairman of CCM Tanzania Mainland Comrade Abdulrahman Kinana, retired Speaker of Parliament Hon. Job Ndugai, Head of Dodoma Region Hon. Rosemary Senyamule, Chairman of UWT Taifa Brother Mary Chatanda.
