After listening to Taylor Swift’s new album, Flavor Flav said he wanted to “punch anyone who hurt” her
Longtime fan of Taylor Swift’s music, Flavor Flav, gave his honest assessment of the pop singer’s most recent album, The Tortured Poets Department, after it was released on Friday, April 19.
Swift’s 11th studio album, which she revealed while accepting an award on stage at the 2024 Grammys, was highly anticipated by fans worldwide.
Flavor Flav responded to a tweet Swift sent out minutes after the release of her new song by sharing his thoughts on the album. Flavor Flav was Swift’s supporter at the Los Angeles premiere of The Eras Tour concert video. “Anthology of new works that reflect events, opinions and sentiments from a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time – one that was both sensational and sorrowful in equal measure,” is how Swift characterised her new album in the tweet.
The “Lover” singer went on to say that “once wounds heal, there are no scores to settle” and even acknowledged that “a good number of them turned out to be self-inflicted.” Despite her remarks, a lot of her admirers continued to use social media to attack the persons they thought were to blame for the suffering that was depicted in her songs.
Less than twenty-four hours after the album’s release, Flavor Flav entered the mix in a post on X that he made in response to Swift’s tweet. The rapper and DJ acknowledged the strength of her music even as he stated he felt like seeking revenge on those who had hurt her.
“No one can punch them worse than Taylor and her piano and pen, but the best art is created from struggle and sadness,” he tweeted on April 19. “The anthology is sad and real and Taylor, it makes me wanna punch anyone that hurt that woman’s feelings,” the tweet continued. The member of Public Enemy continued, saying, “I’m glad she found happiness.”
