Honoring General Francis Ogolla, departing colonials, with a Kenyan football game

Kenyan football will pay respects, along with the rest of the nation, to Kenya Defence Forces Chief of Staff Gen. Francis Ogolla and his fellow soldiers who lost their lives in an aircraft accident on Thursday, April 18, 2024.

All Football Kenya Federation (FKF) games on Saturday and Sunday will observe a moment of silence in remembrance of the fallen troops, according to a statement from the FKF.

“The Football Kenya Federation would like to express its sincere condolences and best wishes to the impacted individuals’ friends and relatives. “May you find comfort in these difficult times,” the statement continued.

“I would like to express my deepest sympathies on behalf of my family on the passing of Chief of Defense Forces General Francis Ogolla. worked closely with the military football team on numerous occasions. One of the senior military officers who had a passion for sports and periodically offered advice on how Kenya should develop its sports, particularly football, was Gen. Ogolla. “I lost a close friend,” Nyamweya remarked.
