The military chief of Kenya perishes in a helicopter crash

Kenya’s military leader and nine other people died in a chopper crash on Thursday afternoon.

head Francis Ogolla, Kenya’s military head, lost his life in a helicopter crash in the country’s western area, leaving the military bereaved. In a TV speech, President William Ruto announced his passing.

Two people survived the catastrophe, which happened soon after takeoff on Thursday afternoon and lost ten lives. General Ogolla’s death was deeply regretted by Ruto, who also sent investigators to the crash scene in Elgeyo Marakwet County.

He stated, “I am deeply saddened to announce the passing of Chief of the Kenya Defense Forces, General Francis Omondi Ogolla.”

Ogolla was sent, according to the president, to check on school upgrades in the country’s North Rift region and to visit troops.

Ruto called an emergency meeting of the National Security Council in reaction to the incident.

As the Commander in Chief of the Kenya Defense Forces, I believe that today is a very bad day for the country as a whole and a devastating moment for the Kenya Defense Forces fraternity. One of our nation’s bravest generals has left us. In addition, valiant leaders, soldiers, and women have died, according to Ruto.

Beginning on Friday, Kenya will observe three days of mourning. According to Kenya Broadcasting Corporation, Ogolla, who enlisted in the military in 1984, is the first military head to pass away while serving in Kenya. After enlisting in the Kenya Defense Forces in 1984, he rose to the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in 1985 and was later sent to the Kenya Air Force.
