Tanzanians should be excited about the opportunities of AFCON 2027

The Tanzania Investment Center (TIC) has urged Tanzanians to embrace the opportunity to invest in various sectors towards the AFCON 2027 Tanzania to host.

This was stated today by the Director General of TIC, Gilead Teri on April 16, 2024 in Dar es Salaam at the Investment Conference between stakeholders in the sports, tourism and hospitality sectors to discuss investment opportunities towards AFCON 2027.

The director said, Tanzanians should invest in the mining sector, transport, restaurants, industries, hotels, as well as the construction of sports fields.

He added that, per year one to two million visitors come to visit the country.

For his part, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Sports, Gerson Msigwa has said that, as the host of the AFCON 2027 tournament that will start in June, Tanzania has given more than 30 million dollars while Kenya and Uganda have also given 30 million dollars to each of the three countries. they have given more than 90 million dollars.

He said, Tanzania has planned to build and renovate three stadiums for the tournament, namely the New Amaan Complex Stadium in Zanzibar, the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam, and the construction of the new Samia Stadium in Arusha, which costs more than Shs 236 billion.
