Kenyans respond to Rachel Ruto’s assertion that prayer is the reason Ugandan soil is fertile
Mama Rachel claims that because to the East African Revival Prayers, Ugandans have been blessed with fertile land and copious rainfall, in contrast to Kenyans who use fertilizer.
First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto’s recent comments that Ugandans don’t need fertilizer because of the country’s fertility as a result of East African Revival Prayers have sparked a dispute among Kenyans.
Discussions and criticism of her remarks have been generated nationwide.
Mama Rachel declared that Ugandans are fortunate to live in a country with lush land and enough of rains at a Thanksgiving ceremony held at KICC on April 15.
She suggested that God had intervened to grant Uganda bountiful rainfall and lush land as a result of the East African revival prayers that swept through the nation in the 1930s.
She suggested that Uganda’s agricultural success is more likely the result of divine intervention than good farming practices, drawing a comparison between this and Kenya’s reliance on fertilizers for farming.
“Our President of Kenya speaks about fertilizers for farmers. In Uganda, fertilizers are not used. There is plenty of rain and their land is extremely productive. The East African Revival that swept over Uganda and other parts of East Africa is what I came to find, Mama Rachel stated.
The First Lady recalled how she humbly begged for rain during her trip to Uganda in 2022, when she saw beautiful flora contrasted with Kenya’s parched climate and the ensuing suffering.
She urged everyone in attendance at the Thanksgiving ceremony to practice prayer and keep an attitude of thanksgiving to God for all of life’s blessings.
In addition, Rachel shared her desire for Kenya to observe a Thanksgiving holiday, similar to the one observed in the United States, that is centered around prayer and expressing thanks.
