KARIAKOO DERBY: SIMBA SC INTENDS TO END YANGA SC – MATOLA

This week’s Dar es Salaam derby between Simba SC and Young Africans (Yanga SC) is a “do or die” game, according to assistant coach Selemani Matola, who also stated that only a victory will get them back in the title fight.

He said this over the weekend at Liti Stadium in Singida, after a tight Premier League encounter that ended in a 1-1 tie against Ihefu. “There is no other way out of the fight for the league title than winning the derby…We will have enough time to prepare for it because it will be a do-or-die match, according to Matola.

Speaking about the draw itself, he lamented his outfits’ carelessness and acknowledged that they still needed to solve the issue inside the squad.

“We could have won big today (Saturday) if Freddy Kouablan had made better use of the scoring possibilities we created, but a lot of chances were lost. We’ll keep trying to get better,” he declared.
