At $400 per hour, former Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot was brought in to look into the claims of being the “worst mayor in America”

On Monday, the Village of Dolton in Illinois decided to appoint Lori Lightfoot, a former mayor of Chicago, as a “Special Investigator” to investigate Dolton Mayor Tiffany Henyard.

Lightfoot would start receiving $400 per hour on Tuesday in exchange for information about Henyard’s purported mismanagement of finances and spending, as well as “any state and federal violations.”

Prior to the vote on Monday, Lightfoot stated that she would “follow the facts where they lead” and acknowledged that the locals prefer to move in a different way than Henyard.

Lightfoot will submit a report on her findings to the Village of Dolton at the conclusion of her investigation. What occurs after that will be decided by the report’s conclusions.

Trustees also revoted on matters pertaining to payments to suppliers and invoices that the Village has not yet paid, as well as topics that the mayor of Dolton had previously vetoed.
