Devastation menaces as Kenya’s health sector experiences disaster after disaster
Kenya is staggering on the edge of a health disaster as doctors in public services have set down their tools asking safer working environments, implementation of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), declaring of medical interns and medical protection.
Patients once guaranteed of care now discover themselves in a dehumanizing state, left on their own as hospitals and doctors order cash prior to treatment.
All around the nation, doctors, with those in private hospitals, have handed a seven-day ultimatum to the government to stop the required use of the Electronic Tax Invoice Management System (eTIMS) in the segment or face a countrywide strike.
If this strike occurs, it will worsen an already severe situation.
