The country of Rwanda has accused the United States of criticizing it due to the increase in unrest in the eastern part of the country of the Democratic Republic of the Congo while also expressing its reaction to what it has said is the neglect of the process of achieving peace in the region. and what it has claimed are military activities carried out by DR Congo and that the country’s major operations in North Kivu are against the decisions of regional procedures. weapons including M23.
Last week, two South African army officers who are part of the SADC peacekeepers were killed while three others were injured in an explosion at their camp.
Last weekend, the United States accused Rwanda of allegedly supporting the M23 rebels in the country DR Congo and asking the rebels to immediately leave Congolese land.
Kigali, for its part, has continued to deny claims that it supports and finances the M23 rebels who are destabilizing the security of eastern DRC.
According to the statement of the spokesperson of the Ministry of the foreign affairs of the United States, asked Rwanda for its tanks that are supposed to be able to fire missiles from the ground to the air in the DRC, weapons that Washington has said are dangerous to civilians, they protect peace and passenger planes.
Rwanda says the American statement distorts the truth, adding that DR Congo’s actions threaten its security, and it has the right to take measures to protect itself against that threat.
