Security has been strengthened outside the embassy of foreign countries in Kinshasa.

Kinshasa – Security officers have strengthened security outside the embassies of the United States, the United Kingdom and France and the United Nations in Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo, following protests that began last week and targeted vehicles with foreign registrations, complaining of lack of security East of the country.

Yesterday, the police used tear gas to disperse the demonstrators who were marching towards the British embassy.

Demonstrators invaded the famous highway boulevard du 30 Juin, with the aim of surrounding the embassy of France, the United States, and the offices of Monusco as well as the embassies of other Western countries, believing that those countries have failed to condemn Rwanda for allegedly supporting the M23 rebels in eastern DRC.
