Who exactly is Tyla?
Tyla who her real name is Tyla Laura Seethal, aged 22 was born and raised in South Africa. She has a mixed origin of South Africa, India, Ireland, and Mauritania. Tyla started as a TikTok dancer during the Pandemic. It was through the social media where she built more fans worldwide. Her videos quickly became viral and made her famous. She dropped out of college majoring in Mining Engineering and decided to focus on her dream of becoming a Musician.
In 2019, she released her first single “Getting Late” which did so well during that time. She mentioned her love of Rihanna and the Late Aaliyah were the main reasons for her passions to become a musician. Her life dramatically for the best changed after signed with Epic Records and then released her first single “Water” in July 2023. The single was very successful and ended up on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. In year 2024, Tyla won the Grammy’s as the Best African Music Performance for her hit single “Water”.
