Northern India Helicopter Crash With Six People Inside As a result of inclement weather
Authorities in Uttarakhand, India, attribute the helicopter crash to bad weather, prompting the deployment of rescue crews.
Due to bad weather, a helicopter carrying six people crashed on Sunday in the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand’s Gaurikund district, according to Indian news agency ANI.
Prior to officials confirming the incident, the aircraft was reported missing. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), local government, and other emergency teams are on the ground and conducting rescue and relief efforts.
By confirming the event in a tweet on X (previously Twitter), Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami promised that every attempt was being made to help the victims.
Officials informed India Today that bad weather caused the chopper to lose its route, but they haven’t yet disclosed information on the passengers’ conditions.
