Otto Ado makes fun of young Black stars in spite of Nigeria’s defeat in the Unity Cup
Black Stars head coach Otto Addo praised a number of young players who played in Ghana’s Unity Cup match against Nigeria, even though their team lost the highly anticipated game.
Even though Ghana lost 2-1 to a more experienced Nigerian team, Addo thinks there were some good signs, especially from players who weren’t as well known.
He said after the game, “Like I said, it’s not always easy, especially when we have players who haven’t played together much.” “I believe Nigeria’s team was more experienced and could adjust more quickly.” It was hard for us to get into the duels where we could both press and defend well.
When Addo talked about the game, he said that Ghana had a rough start in the first half and gave up two goals before halftime.
“The first half wasn’t really ours.” I believe the objectives were too simple. The second goal was a bit of a fluke, but the first one was way too easy. It was a bad cross from Nigeria, but we didn’t clear it.
The second half, on the other hand, was much better. Ghana scored a goal and looked much more calm.
“I have to say that the second half was great.” We saw some skills… Some of the players were really upbeat, and I can’t wait to see them again.
While the game was technically a loss, the leader stressed that the technical team learned a lot from it.
For me as a coach, we learned some things about the players. There were some young players who did great… We are still trying to get better and learn new things. The people who teach us gave us a lot of information. We need to keep going.
Based on what Addo said, it sounds like some of the players who got chances in the Unity Cup might be called up for future international games as Ghana gets ready.
