Ten Hag is revealed as the new manager by Bayer Leverkuen

On Monday, Erik ten Hag, a former Manchester United manager, was appointed manager of Bayer Leverkusen.

The term of the appointment is two years. The 55-year-old Dutchman took Xabi Alonso’s place after he left Leverkusen to join Real Madrid.

Since United sacked Ten Hag in October, when the Old Trafford squad was 14th in the Premier League rankings, Ten Hag has been without a job.

He was the manager of Ajax Amsterdam from 2018 to 22 during his most productive period.

The squad made it to the 2019 Champions League semifinals and won three Eredivisie championships.

Under Spanish coach Alonso, Leverkusen won the German Cup, made it to the Europa League final, and won their first Bundesliga title without losing a game in the 2023–24 campaign.

Ten Hag had been linked to a return to Ajax before agreeing to a deal with Leverkusen, who finished second in the Bundesliga this season behind Bayern Munich.
