Barca Hands-Flick’s contract has been extended till 2027
The La Liga squad said on Wednesday that they have extended coach Hansi Flick’s contract until 2027 in honor of the German coach who led Barcelona to three domestic crowns this season.
Flick, a treble-winning coach with Bayern Munich who inked a two-year contract with the team last year, arrived in Barcelona prepared to make atonement after being fired by Germany in September 2023.
Barcelona quickly cemented their dominance at home under Flick.
With two games left, they won their 28th La Liga title and concluded the season atop the standings.
They also won the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup finals over fierce rivals Real Madrid.
Barcelona defeated Real Madrid in all four of their Clasico matches this season, scoring 16 goals in the process.
In a statement, Barcelona said, “Hansi Flick has made Barca fans happy in his first season for many reasons: the belief he has given to the team, the epic comebacks, and the trophies.”
“FC Barcelona is once again a feared adversary in Europe thanks to the energy the German has given to the team in his first year as manager.
“Flick has a 73% win rate, the highest in a first season since Luis Enrique’s 83% record, having won 43 of the 54 games he has been in charge of.”
Furthermore, Flick led Barcelona to the Champions League semifinals, when they were eliminated 7–6 overall by Inter Milan.
