OSIMHEN, helping Galatasaray win the 25th Turkish Super Liga championship

Galatasaray defeated Kayserispor 3-0 on Sunday, with Victor Osimhen scoring the game’s goal to claim their 25th Turkish title with two games remaining.

With their victory, Galatasaray pulled away from their fierce rivals, Fenerbahce, of Istanbul, who haven’t won the league in nearly a decade.

Now that Galatasaray has one star for each of the five titles, they can add a fifth star to their team shirts.

Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, who defeated Eyupspor 2-0 on Sunday, were well ahead of the other Superlig teams this season with 89 and 81 points, respectively.

Third-place Samsunspor is far behind with 60 points.

After Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen’s goal in the 26th minute of the first half, Turkish winger Baris Alper Yilmaz scored three minutes later.

In the second half, goaltender Fernando Muslera added a third goal with a penalty, guaranteeing Galatasaray’s victory in Istanbul as fans started to rejoice around the country.

Only one league loss versus Besiktas has occurred to Galatasaray this season.
