Crystal Palace triumphed over Manchester City in the FA Cup final

Crystal Palace defeated Manchester City 1-0 in the FA Cup final at Wembley to win their first-ever championship.

Eberechi Eze’s calm finish in the 16th minute gave Palace the lead they would not give up, and it was the game-changing moment. Pep Guardiola’s team failed to overcome a tough Palace defense despite City’s attempts to rally, which included attacker Omar Marmoush missing a penalty.

Surprisingly, the outcome means that Manchester City ends the season trophy-free, which hasn’t happened often under Guardiola’s leadership.

The South London team, who won the FA Cup for the first time in their existence, achieved a historic milestone with the triumph. Their first major trophy is this one.

In August, Crystal Palace and Liverpool will square off in the FA Community Shield.
