Christopher Nkunku is anticipated to depart Chelsea as the elite clubs circle.

Christopher Nkunku seems prepared to depart Chelsea this summer after two uneven seasons at Stamford Bridge. The French international, who cost €60 million to sign in 2023 from RB Leipzig, was predicted to be the team’s next attacking hero.

He has scored 14 goals this season despite battling ailments, which puts him as Chelsea’s second-best scorer. But now that the team has lost out on Champions League qualification once more, Nkunku is seriously thinking about leaving.

Liverpool, who see the 27-year-old as a flexible addition to their changing front line, have now entered the race and are in communication with his entourage. Longtime fans of the Frenchman, Bayern Munich, are still interested in the scenario, especially in light of Leroy Sané’s possible departure, while Newcastle is also keeping an eye on it.

Nkunku’s top goal is to play in the Champions League the next season, which neither Newcastle nor Chelsea can provide. Top European teams are prepared to compete for his signing, making a summer transfer increasingly likely.
