Vinicius Junior is the new manager of a club in the Brazilian second tier
Vinicius Junior is already planning for the future, even though his 2024–2025 season at Real Madrid was less spectacular than expected. Despite struggling to replicate the success of his previous season and failing to build rapport with new colleague Kylian Mbappé, the Brazilian winger managed 20 goals and 16 assists in 50 games.
After missing out on the Ballon d’Or by a short margin, his efforts were insufficient to win any significant titles with the Merengues, and his career came to an end.
Now, the former Flamengo star is aiming for more than only the field. Currently ranked 15th in Série B, Vinicius Junior reportedly purchased Brazilian team Athletic-MG. Although the São João del Rei-based team is nowhere near to Brazil’s top football players, it suddenly has the support of one of the nation’s biggest talents.
Vinicius’ investment makes it apparent that he intends to keep close ties to his own country and possibly start establishing a legacy after playing.
