Nigeria’s Dangote oil refinery has called off maintenance for the gasoline unit that was scheduled for June, according to IIR
Nigeria’s Dangote oil refinery has canceled maintenance for June at its 204,000 barrels per day gasoline-making unit because it finished planned work during an unexpected shutdown from April 7 to May 11. This was reported by IIR, an industry watchdog.
According to Kpler, the Dangote refinery exported more refined products like straight run fuel oil while exports of finished products like jet fuel and gasoil went down. This happened because of an unplanned failure.
Kpler records show that Nigeria’s gasoline imports went up by 24% month-over-month in April, to 157,000 bpd.
Dangote had originally planned to shut down its RFCC unit, which makes gasoline, for 30 days in June for repairs.
The Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote built a 650,000 bpd plant in Lagos. It started making gasoline in September 2024, after processing crude oil into products like gasoil, naphtha, and jet fuel.
A request for information from the Dangote refinery was not answered right away.
