
Kovacs is named a referee for the Champions League Final by UEFA
The UEFA Referees Committee has designated Romania’s István Kovács as the referee for the 2025 UEFA Champions League final, which will take place between Paris and Inter at the Munich Football Arena in Germany on Saturday, May 31.
The match is set to begin at 21:00 CET.
The 40-year-old has been an international referee since 2010 and will be officiating his third UEFA club competition final. He has been appointed as the referee for the 2024 UEFA Europa League final in Dublin, Republic of Ireland, featuring Atalanta and Leverkusen, as well as the 2022 UEFA Conference League final between Roma and Feyenoord in Tirana, Albania.
This season, he has officiated seven Champions League matches, including the second leg of the round of 16 between Liverpool and Paris.
