Images from Tory Lanez’s jail

Lanez posted images of himself from prison just a few days before to the news of his stabbing.

In the photo, Lanez flaunted his gorgeously toned body while posing with his housemates.

Lanez boasted about his future record, stating that it would be available by the summer of 2025, in addition to the photos.

Lanez added that a second album he created while inside was “100% recorded, mixed & mastered.”

The album announcement and the photographs pleased many of the rapper’s fans, who also commended him for his hard work while incarcerated.

“My second prison album,” one fan wrote. One person said, “This man is crazy,” while another said, “Can you hurry up and come out?” According to a third commenter, “Miss you.”

Tory Lanez: Why Is he Behind Bars?

It was first claimed that fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion, who was also in the vehicle, had suffered a broken glass injury to her foot. But Megan eventually admitted that she had been shot and had surgery for her wounds, claiming that the attack was deliberate.

Megan openly identified Lanez as the shooter in August 2020 during an Instagram Live session, denouncing his publicist for allegedly disseminating misleading information. After Lanez’s album “Daystar” was released in September 2020, he denied the charges and implied that Megan and her crew were trying to frame him. This further exacerbated the situation.

In retaliation, Megan’s lawyer charged that Lanez’s group was disseminating misleading information. In addition to denying the accusations, Lanez’s reps pledged to look into the situation. As public outrage increased, Lanez said media outlets were conspiring to spread a false and slanted campaign against him.

Several charges, including assault with a semiautomatic rifle and carrying a loaded, unlicensed weapon, were officially filed against him later that October. He allegedly caused significant bodily harm himself, according to the charges.

Lanez was ordered to give up any firearms and maintain a minimum of 100 yards between him and Megan as part of the protective order.

Legal Actions and Convictions

In her op-ed for The New York Times on October 13, 2020, Megan discussed the incident and more general themes of violence against Black women.

She made it clear that she was shot twice as she was leaving Lanez and that they were not romantically involved.

Lanez was arrested once more in April 2022 for breaking the protective order, but he was freed on a $350,000 bond increase.

Then, on December 23, 2022, a jury convicted him of three felonies: assault with a semiautomatic weapon, carrying a loaded, unlicensed firearm in a car, and firearm discharge with gross negligence.

After the verdict, he was arrested right away.

August 8, 2023, Lanez received a 10-year prison term.

The legal battle between Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez is still ongoing.
Even after being imprisoned, Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion have persisted in their legal dispute.

The California Court of Appeal is now hearing Lanez’s appeal of his conviction.

A five-year restraining order against Lanez has now been secured by Megan, and it was extended until 2030. Megan claimed that Lanez had harassed her while she was incarcerated, which led to the injunction.

Megan has also sued Lanez and YouTuber Milagro “Gramz” Cooper for defamation, claiming that they disseminated misleading information on the shooting event.

Megan’s legal team is attempting to depose Lanez while he is incarcerated as part of the civil action. Her attorneys recently filed a request for contempt against Lanez, claiming that she had acted inappropriately during a deposition.
