A$AP Rocky Gives A Name Hint For His Third Child Right Away

A$AP Rocky and Rihanna intend to name their future child in accordance with family custom.

The 36-year-old rapper, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, has confirmed that the child will be given a name that starts with the letter R, exactly like their previous children, RZA, 2, and 22-month-old Riot. The pair announced earlier this week that they are expecting their third child together.

On Wednesday (07.05.25), Rocky made an appearance on “Late Night With Seth Meyers.” The host congratulated him on the good news before posing the question, “Your first two kids have ‘R’ names, obviously you and Rihanna have ‘R’ names.”

“Do you think this is a guarantee that the third will have a “R” name?”

Rocky said, “Definitely.”

The “Fashion Killa” singer also disclosed in the interview that his cherished grandma, Cathy, spent the entire night at his Met Gala afterparty because she was eager to meet Colman Domingo, his fellow co-chairman.

“She wanted to meet her husband, so she was very ambitious about going,” he laughed.

The “Sing Sing” star did not turn up, so “she didn’t get to meet him unfortunately,” but Rocky acknowledged that Cathy stayed the entire night because she “was waiting on her boo to show up.”

Shortly before attending the Met Gala, Rihanna, 37, revealed a snapshot of herself with her expanding baby bulge taken by photographer Miles Diggs, confirming her pregnancy.

Wearing a grey bustier and a floor-length black skirt by Marc Jacobs, the “Diamonds” singer came late to Monday’s (05.05.25) Met Gala, which was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The event’s subject was “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”

Rocky had come earlier in the evening and told media about their pregnancy news, but Rihanna rocked up after the flowered carpet was over.

“It’s time to just show the people what we were cooking up,” he said to them.

“Thank you, thank you, thank you,” he added.

“We’re definitely happy, so I’m glad everyone is happy for us.”

Making a global pregnancy announcement is nothing new for Rihanna.

During her 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show performance, the celebrity revealed she was expecting Riot.

Days later, Rihanna acknowledged that “everything changed” for the couple with the arrival of their first child, but that the birth of RZA brought them closer.
