Conceicao remains grounded following Milan’s victory against Bologna in the final

AC Milan manager Sergio Conceicao urged his players to quickly absorb lessons from Friday’s fluctuating performance, emphasizing the need for improvement ahead of the Coppa Italia final, despite a convincing victory against Bologna in Serie A on Friday.

Milan’s 3-1 victory at home served as a solid preparation for next Wednesday’s final, where they will face Bologna once more at the iconic Stadio Olimpico in Rome, although the Portuguese manager expressed some dissatisfaction with his team’s performance.

Starting tomorrow, we will begin our preparations for the Coppa Italia. “We must reflect on our actions, both the successes and the shortcomings from tonight,” Concecaio stated to Sky Sport Italia.

“I anticipate variations between the two teams, but this is a final; occasionally, the team that doesn’t showcase the best football emerges victorious,” he added.

Milan will secure two trophies this season with a Coppa Italia win, having already claimed the Supercoppa in early January; however, Conceicao refrained from speculating whether a victory would guarantee his future.

Bologna coach Vincenzo Italiano expressed dissatisfaction with the closing moments of the match, during which his team faltered against a determined Milan that netted all three goals in the final minutes.

“We dominated the game and had opportunities to secure a second goal, but there was a 15-minute lapse that I cannot explain,” Italiano shared with Sky Sport Italia.

“Those 15 minutes were the most challenging I’ve witnessed from my team in quite some time, yet overall we demonstrated resilience and had opportunities to score additional goals.”
