Joe Biden, the former president, says he isn’t shocked. Racism and sexism caused Kamala Harris to lose the election

Joe Biden, the former president, is not shocked that sexism and racism prevented Kamala Harris from winning the election.

It wasn’t because I didn’t believe the vice president was the most qualified candidate for the presidency that I was shocked. On Thursday, Biden stated on “The View” that “she is.” “They went the sexist route…this is a woman, she’s this, she’s that,” he continued, describing it as “a successful and consistent campaign undermining the notion that a woman couldn’t lead the country and of mixed race.”

When asked why Trump is still obsessed with him, Biden said, “I beat him.” Harris could have won, he asserted, if more people had cast ballots: “A lot of people didn’t show up.” Trump received “7 million fewer votes” in 2020, which Biden highlighted as evidence that he would have won if he had run again.

But Trump won all seven swing-state electoral votes and the popular vote—the first for a Republican since 2004—by flipping crucial states like Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Arizona.

He reiterated when asked if Harris’ statement that she wouldn’t have altered Biden’s strategy while in government was something he had advised her to say. Her presence would not have altered our achievements.

Biden mentioned having regular conversations with Harris and implied that she is considering her options.

He further said, “She has a tough choice to make.”

Disappointed with the result, he said, “Liberal democracies all across the world lost last time,” attributing the defeat to COVID’s lasting effect on voters’ sentiments and hope.

We have a lot of excellent applicants as well, he added, but “I think she’s first rate.”
