Rapper Fat Joe is grieving his mother’s passing

Less than three months have passed since Fat Joe’s father’s death.

Following the recent death of his husband, the 54-year-old rapper announced on social media on Saturday night that his mother, Marie Del-Carmen Cartagena, had died at the age of 77 due to a “broken heart.”

On Instagram, he posted, “This a real one, rest in peace to the woman who brought me in this world,” without providing a specific cause of death. Despite her lack of possessions, she gave us everything. My mom had a big heart, and despite my wealth, she refused to leave the projects for many years. Anyone who knows her knows this.
