Queen Latifah Responds to Her TV Program “The Equalizer” Being Canceled

The experience Queen Latifah had on “The Equalizer” was “everything [she] hoped it would be.”

Following the cancellation of the crime-drama series by CBS, the 55-year-old actress, who portrayed Robyn McCall, better known as the Equalizer, on the television program for five seasons, has taken to social media to share her thoughts about the event.

The rapper-turned-actress posted on Instagram: “It was everything I could have imagined when I stepped into a character like Robyn. These kinds of jobs and projects are always exciting for Shakim and myself at Flavor Unit, and we sincerely hope you like them as much as we do. The Equalizer exceeded all of our expectations, and it just seems unreal to have been able to do this for five seasons.

“We are grateful to our incredible crew, actors, producers, and writers! I also can’t express how much I love the fans! Because of your unwavering loyalty, loudness, and ride-or-die attitude, we continue to do this. We are so grateful to you. It is extremely important to us.

And don’t worry, I’ll be back in a brand-new role very soon. I’m excited to share it with you.

Latifah has been a cast member of “The Equalizer” since 2021, and she has previously written on the “mentality” she brought to the program.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to have a film career where we were always coming up with new things,” the actress, who also featured on the TV sitcom “Living Single” from 1993 to 1998, told Variety in 2022. I approach television with the mindset that we’re constantly looking to be more inventive and push the boundaries.

How can we intensify it further? How can we make it even more intriguing or lovely?

Additionally, Latifah disclosed that the show’s creators were aware of the opinions of its viewers.
