Salah: The 2025 championship is sweeter than the 2020 win

The Premier League title victory this season, according to Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah, is even better than the one in 2020 and is much more enjoyable without former players and manager Jurgen Klopp there.

The Merseyside team finished a lopsided title chase by defeating Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 on Sunday, securing its 20th league title and tying Manchester United.

With his goal on Sunday, Salah surpassed Sergio Aguero to become the Premier League’s all-time top-scoring foreign player with 185 goals.

The Egyptian maintained that their victory in the 2025 championship is far superior to their prior achievements.

“Amazing, astounding. It’s amazing to win the Premier League here with Liverpool and the supporters,” he stated, as reported by TeamTalk.

“This is 100% better. In the absence of Sadio [Mane], Jurgen, Bobby [Firmino], and everyone else… With the fans, it feels even more wonderful.

“To demonstrate that we can do it again is something special, and I don’t want to take credit for it, but we have a new group and a new manager now.”

He continued by saying, “[Manager Arne Slot] is very honest and tough—Dutch—but that’s just his personality. He made our lives easier by [telling you] what he wants you to do.” I’m happy that we prevailed here.

With 33 goals and 28 assists in 48 games, Salah has had a career-best season, averaging one goal or assist every 75 minutes.

Liverpool supporters will be able to witness more of his genius thanks to a new two-year deal.
