Berkawe and Simbas make it to the final of the CAF Confederation Cup

The semi-final action on Sunday guaranteed RS Berkane and Simba SC spots in the 2024–25 CAF Confederation Cup final.

At the Chahid Hamlaoui Stadium in Algeria, Abdennour Belhocini’s strike in the 47th minute gave the Algerian team the victory, and Berkane lost 1-0 against CS Constantine.

But Berkane, the Moroccan champions, advanced to the final since they won the match 4-1 overall, marking their fifth Confederation Cup final appearance.

The South African team had to win at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, but Simba held Stellenbosch FC to a 0-0 draw.

Following their 1-0 aggregate victory in the fiercely contested match, Simba went to the final, marking the first time the Tanzanian powerhouses have advanced to a continental final since their appearance in the CAF Cup final in 1993.

Berkane, the two-time Confederation Cup champions, will face Simba in the two-leg final. The first-leg encounter will take place at home for Berkane on May 17 and away to Simba on May 25.
