Exclusive: Tika Sumpter Says She Had A Miscarriage on “Tamron Hall”
Tika Sumpter recently revealed that she suffered a terrible loss alongside her spouse.
Sumpter spoke about her work, motherhood, and assisting other parents with her new children’s podcast on The Tamron Hall Show on Thursday. The busy and scheduled beauty is doing well in her career, playing several parts in popular TV series and movies. However, following a miscarriage, she had some severe personal troubles.
Sumpter talked candidly about her experience losing the pregnancy and going through the IVF procedure during the interview. In 2016, she and her spouse, Nicholas James, welcomed a daughter, Ella-Loren. The happy couple intended to grow their family once more after getting married in 2022. Regretfully, Sumpeter stated that “it wasn’t in the cards.”
The Sonic franchise actor clarified, “I did hold the child and I miscarried, but I haven’t really talked about IVF or expanded upon it.”
“Ella was there, so even though it was difficult, I’m happy I can share the experience with others because it was worthwhile for me. She viewed the photographs but was unaware that I was holding the youngster. “She witnessed all of those things,” she added.
The Have and Have Nots singer remains hopeful despite the tragic termination of her pregnancy because “IVF gives so much hope!”
The one thing she regrets is not knowing more about her own health. Sumpter revealed that she might “try again” after learning what her body need to have the best chance of carrying to term.
Her pregnancy with Ella was a “happy accident,” according to People. Even though she enjoyed becoming a mother, there were challenges along the way, such as pre-eclampsia. The disclosure was “relieving” for Sumpter, who had just told Hall about her miscarriage for the first time. She considered how to balance sharing everything with the public with maintaining a high level of privacy.
“I think I’m assisting someone else in comprehending the procedure. I’ve been with you through the process as well. We can share in that, she said, “because I’m not the first and I won’t be the last.”
Ella offered to give her mother the injections she need and was more than delighted to participate in the sibling-trying process. Given that Sumpter’s most recent job is that of a doctor on Watson, Hall quipped that it would be ideal for her to have a future doctor.
Sumpter recently revealed that she will play Dr. Watson, played by Morris Chestnut, a pediatric oncologist and his love interest on the popular CBS series. We adore seeing it!
Speaking of romantic partners, she also appeared as Tone Bell’s partner in the second season of Survival of the Thickest.
When Sumpter isn’t glaring on film, she and her husband use their acting talents on Adventures of Curiousity Cove, a children’s podcast.
She also published her first children’s book, I Get It From My Mama, under the Fort Sumpter name.
The gorgeous celebrity always makes things look beautiful, but she doesn’t pretend that balancing parenthood and a profession is simple. We’re praying for Tika Sumpter and everyone she touched by sharing her story so courageously.
