Gilbert Arenas’ son Alijah Arenas is no longer in a coma following a cybertruck crash
“Did anyone get hurt?” the 18-year-old inquired while still intubated.
After a car accident, Alijah Arenas, son of Gilbert Arenas and a men’s basketball prospect at the University of Southern California, has emerged from a coma. According to a family statement, the 18-year-old is still hospitalized and intubated but conscious after the Cybertruck accident. The adolescent opened his eyes and wrote on a piece of paper, “Did anyone get hurt?”
One of the “brave” people described the incident in full to the family.
I recall hearing a bang on the car window, but the smoke was so dense that I was unable to see anything. That’s when I knew there was someone inside,” the individual said. “I attempted to smash the window, but it refused to yield. Then I noticed that one of the windows was slightly damaged, so we bent it and dragged him out with everything we had. The vehicle was ablaze. We simply understood that we needed to remove him.
ESPN Senior NBA Insider Shams Charania posted the statement on social media.
Alijah Arenas was engaged in an automobile collision on Thursday morning (April 24) close to the intersection of Corbin Avenue and Blythe Street in Reseda, California, according to the Los Angeles Times. Before Arenas was pulled from the wreckage, his Cybertruck collided with a tree and a fire hydrant. The outlet was told by a source that the crash was not caused by drugs or alcohol.
Arenas was ranked among the top 10 recruits in the 2025 high school graduating class, according to The Times. The standout athlete, who finished his career at Chatsworth as the all-time City Section scoring leader with over 3,000 points, recently participated in the McDonald’s All-American game and led Chatsworth High to the CIF Division II state championship game in March.
“After the accident this morning, Alijah and his family are in our prayers and thoughts. Please remember to pray for him, his friends and teammates, and the entire Arenas family, USC coach Eric Musselman posted on social media.
