Chris Martin of Coldplay Offers Depression Management Advice

Chris Martin has discussed “some of the things that are helping [him] to stay grateful and happy to be alive” in order to cope with his depression.

Writing exercises and meditation are two “wonderful” techniques that the Coldplay vocalist mentioned that he has found to help him cope with the mood condition.

While in Hong Kong for the band’s “Music of the Spheres World Tour,” he posted an Instagram video saying: “I was going to share some things that have been helping me on tour and in general because I’ve seen a few people lately, including myself, struggling a little with depression. I hope some of them will be helpful for you too.

First of all, I wanted to let you know about freeform writing, which is a technique where you write down anything you’re thinking for 12 minutes and then burn or discard it.

That is excellent.

In my experience, transcendental meditation has been very amazing. The ability to move your body to help balance your brain is known as proprioception.

Jim Costello is a man who developed the Costello Method, which is very beneficial, particularly for young individuals with autism, ADHD, or similar conditions.

“Psychedelic treatment music by John Hopkins is amazing.

The Oxygen Advantage is a fantastic book for breathing. Then, films are fantastic. I adore a movie called “Sing Sing.”

According to the 48-year-old musician, he has been enjoying the music of Chloe Qisha, a budding pop artist, and her songs make him happy.

He went on: “And I’m enjoying the music of this new artist called Chloe Qisha.”

After noticing that there were dancers in front of him, Chris continued, “And there’s some people dancing over there, practicing.” Hence, perhaps dancing as well.

In any case, they are a few things that encourage me to be thankful and content with my life.

“I hope all is well with you, and I love you.”

Following the dissolution of his marriage to Gwyneth Paltrow in 2014, with whom he has two children, Apple, age 20, and Moses, age 19, the “Yellow” hitmaker has said that he experienced a “year of depression.”

He stated in a 2016 interview with The Sunday Times: “I still wake up down a lot of days.” Now, though, I feel like I have the means to make things better.

He continued by praising “The Guest House,” a poem by Rumi, saying, “That one Rumi poem changes everything.” Even when you’re upset, it’s healthy for you, it says. It took a year for me to receive it. A year and a half of depression.
