
Ethiopia and Uganda sign eight cooperation agreements to strengthen their relationship
Uganda and Ethiopia enhance their bilateral relationship through the establishment of eight new cooperation agreements. The agreements were formalized during the 4th Session of the Ethiopia-Uganda Joint Ministerial Commission held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The delegation from Uganda was headed by Foreign Affairs Minister General Abubakhar Jeje Odongo. He was joined by ministers responsible for trade, transport, agriculture, and internal affairs.
Their Ethiopian counterparts were under the leadership of Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. Gedion Timothewos. The Ethiopian delegation included ministers responsible for trade, regional integration, and various other sectoral ministries.
Dr. Timothewos graciously welcomed the Ugandan delegation to Addis Ababa.
He conveyed the Ethiopian government’s pleasure in hosting the joint ministerial commission meeting.
Dr. Timothewos noted that the meeting offered a chance to assess the bilateral relationship. He highlighted the importance of strengthening regional collaboration to address the increasing challenges confronting both nations.
Dr. Timothewos acknowledged the outstanding collaboration between the two nations. This collaboration guarantees the fair and sensible use of the Nile Waters.
The Ethiopian foreign affairs minister emphasized the significance of working together. He highlighted the importance of collaboration between Ethiopia and Uganda to combat terrorism in the region.
This can be accomplished through close collaboration with the Intergovernmental Authority on Development.
General Odongo Jeje Abubakhar conveyed his appreciation to the Ethiopian delegation. The fourth session of the joint ministerial commission was noted to have taken place. At that moment, the bilateral relations between the two countries had flourished.

A memorandum of understanding regarding trade cooperation was signed as well.
