WR Julio Jones, a five-time All-Pro, has announced his retirement

On Friday, Julio Jones, a wide receiver, made his formal NFL retirement announcement on the social networking platform Squad.

One of the most successful pass-catchers of the contemporary age is Jones. He is a seven-time Pro Bowler and a five-time All-Pro (two-time first team selection).

Jones, who played for the Atlanta Falcons for the majority of his career, had six straight seasons with 1,300 yards or more in receiving. He set a league record in 2015 with 1,871 receiving yards, the third-highest total in a single season.

Jones has 914 receptions for 13,703 yards (16th most all-time) and 66 touchdowns in his career. His career average of 82.5 yards per game puts him in fifth place overall.

In 2011, Jones was selected by the Falcons as the sixth overall pick. He played for the team for ten seasons before spending one season each with the Philadelphia Eagles (2023), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2022), and Tennessee Titans (2021).
