Dangote Donates Rice to Feed 40,000 Families in Borno
To alleviate financial difficulties, the Aliko Dangote Foundation has given 40,000 bags of rice to people in Borno State.
The goal of the Aliko Dangote Food Intervention Program is to alleviate economic hardship for at least 40,000 families in Borno State.
According to Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, who was represented by Ali Abdullahi Isa, Director General of the Borno State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), the Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) donation of 40,000 bags of 10 kg rice will offer much-needed help, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan. Speaking during Wednesday’s flag-off ceremony in Maiduguri, he said the donation was evidence of the Foundation’s commitment to helping communities that are at risk.
He urged citizens to keep praying for peace, security, and prosperity in the state and throughout Nigeria, saying, “We are deeply thankful to Alhaji Aliko Dangote and the entire foundation for their kindness and philanthropy.”
The Foundation has started delivering one million bags of rice valued at N16 billion around the 774 local government areas of the nation as part of a broader program.
Usman Muhammad, a representative of the ADF, reiterated the Foundation’s dedication to assisting government initiatives and enhancing the quality of life for Nigerians, especially the weak and impoverished.
Aisha Modu, a 50-year-old beneficiary who has been displaced, thanked the donor and said it will significantly alleviate her financial hardships. Another beneficiary, 60-year-old Umaru Aliyu, prayed for the Foundation’s chairman to continue to be blessed and stated that the rice will help him feed his six children.
