Zee Entertainment Africa Introduces Zee Dunia, Kenya’s First Free-to-Air Television Channel
Leading international media company Zee Entertainment Africa has launched Zee Dunia, a Free to Air (FTA) television station, in Kenya and throughout Africa in an effort to expand the variety of entertainment options available to audiences. As a result, it is the continent’s first multinational corporation to offer the service.
It is anticipated that Zee Dunia, the company’s first foray into the FTA media landscape of the continent, will give consumers an easy and reasonably priced way to access quality content.
Through cooperation and content diversity with regional elements, we are committed to empowering and supporting creatives in keeping with our longstanding tradition of excellence in production and innovation. In order to expand our audience and support the expansion of the media and entertainment sector, we have made significant investments in our distribution,” stated Somnath Malakar, CEO of Zee Entertainment – Africa & Indian Ocean Islands.
The action demonstrates Zee Entertainment’s faith in Kenya’s entertainment sector, which is thought to be among the most developed in the region. Zee plans to increase local production talent’s capabilities in addition to producing high-caliber content.
Neha Sharma, VP East Africa at Zed Entertainment Africa, emphasized that the country’s dynamic media landscape and flourishing content production industry “influenced our decision to launch our first free to air channel in this market.” We are thrilled to provide comprehensive family viewing, delivering varied and captivating programs to homes nationwide while also investing in Kenyan talent and resources, making it a noteworthy milestone in our dedication to the sector. With a robust distribution of 41 outlets nationwide via PANG and Signet, this will ensure awareness and accessibility while promoting its broader economic success.
