Lojay Releases “Somebody Like You,” a Heartfelt New Single, Before Her Debut Album

The Grammy-nominated hitmaker Sarz created the brand-new tune “Somebody Like You,” which marks the comeback of acclaimed Afrobeats singer-songwriter Lojay.

As Lojay muses on love, longing, and healing, this easygoing song combines airy chords, rhythmic percussion, and his distinctive vocals.

Somebody Like You takes listeners on a poignant journey through the highs and lows of love as it delves into topics of romance and emotional rebirth. Deep feelings of vulnerability and hope are evoked by Lojay’s lyrics, which include “What if I gave you love to my ceiling / What if I bought you a couple more reasons” and “I pray I find me a spiritual woman / But if I don’t, I’ll use all my time / Just looking around for / Someone like you.”

Even in the most difficult circumstances, “Somebody Like You” offers hope for recovery and love rediscovery. This song, which is set to an irresistible tempo and encompasses love, loss, and healing in less than three minutes, was a very unique experience to write.

The song also carries on Lojay and Sarz’s fruitful collaboration, which began with their collaboration on the breakthrough EP LV ‘N’ ATTN. Monalisa and other worldwide singles from that project cemented their status as a dominant combo in the Afrobeats landscape.

Lojay’s career reaches a turning point when Somebody Like You is released. Lojay recently made headlines with an unexpected performance at Chris Brown’s sold-out South African concert in December, just after receiving a Grammy nomination for Sensational, his well-known collaboration with Davido and Chris Brown. The performance, which took place over two nights in front of an incredible 100,000 people, was another significant turning point in his quick ascent.
