Agent Mendes claims that Yamal will extend his contract with Barcelona

Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal’s representative, Jorge Mendes, declared on Wednesday that Yamal’s contract with the La Liga squad will be extending past 2026.

This season, the 17-year-old Spain international has made 35 appearances for Barca across all competitions, handing up 16 assists and scored 11 goals.

After helping his side win the European Championship in 2024, he was named the 2024 Golden Boy.

Yamal, a Barcelona academy graduate, has made 86 appearances for the Catalan team since making his senior debut in April 2023.

Following a meeting with Barca president Joan Laporta in Lisbon, Mendes informed Spanish reporters, “Lamine will continue at Barca; the important thing now is to think about sporting matters.”

Barcelona will play Benfica in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 in Portugal later on Wednesday.
