Pope Francis had a good night’s sleep, according to Vatican

The Holy See Press Office said in a statement released Monday morning that Pope Francis enjoyed a peaceful tenth night in the hospital.

The statement said, “The Pope slept and is resting; the night went well.”
The Pope is being treated at Gemelli Hospital in Rome for double pneumonia.

The Holy See Press Office stated on Sunday night that although he has not had any respiratory crises since Saturday am, his condition is still severe.

Pope Francis’s hemoglobin levels had been raised through blood transfusions.

“The thrombocytopenia remains stable; however, some blood tests show early, mild renal insufficiency, which is currently under control,” according to a press release issued on Sunday. “High-flow oxygen therapy continues through nasal cannulas.”

The Pope and the medical staff who are managing his care attended Mass earlier on Sunday at his Gemelli Hospital residence.
