Tyla and Sean Paul’s “Push 2 Start” remix has dancehall vibes
Tyla, a South African pop phenomenon, collaborated with Sean Paul, a legendary figure in Jamaican dancehall, to remix her popular song Push 2 Start.
Last Friday, Tyla announced the news on social media, which thrilled her followers.
Tyla expressed her enthusiasm about working with the Jamaican singer, who is well-known for songs like “Temperature,” “Get Busy,” “She Doesn’t Mind,” and others, in a recent interview with Billboard. “Sean Paul is adored by everybody.
Growing up, there were a lot of his songs that I loved. They are sentimental, unique, and energetic. With my remix, I aimed to convey that same enthusiasm. Since he had already shown interest in collaborating with me, this seemed like the ideal chance,” she remarked.
Tyla has previously dabbled in dancehall. She previously worked on the song Jump alongside American rapper Gunna and Jamaican DJ and rapper Skillibeng. She has also collaborated with Tems, Travis Scott, and Ayra Starr, among other international celebrities.
As part of the deluxe version of Tyla, her self-titled debut album, which also includes new songs like Shake Ahand Back to You, the original Push 2 Start made its debut on October 11, 2024. The project weaves themes of seduction and sensuality across its songs by fusing pop, R&B, and Amapiano.
The remix comes after Tyla’s Grammy-winning hit song, Water, became popular. Her second appearance on the Billboard Hot 100 was Push 2 Start.
