
The government reports that a Libyan state official has survived an assassination attempt in Tripoli
According to a government statement, a Libyan state minister was spared an assassination attempt Wednesday when gunmen opened fire on his vehicle in the capital city of Tripoli.
The Government of National Unity (GNU), located in Tripoli, vehemently denounced the incident, claiming that an unidentified gang had fired straight at Adel Juma’s car as it was traveling on a highway.
According to a statement published on an official website, security officials had “launched investigations to uncover the circumstances of the incident and track down the perpetrators.” Juma’s health was described as stable.
The United Nations supported the installation of Prime Minister Abdulhamid al-Dbeibah’s GNU in 2021.
