Morata is loaned to Galatasaray from AC Milan

Alvaro Morata, a striker for AC Milan, has been loaned to Galatasaray for 6 million euros ($6.14 million) between February 2025 and January 2026, according to separate releases released by the Turkish Super Lig team and AC Milan on Sunday.

In a statement posted on its official website, AC Milan stated that Galatasaray had the option to make the agreement permanent.

According to Galatasaray, Morata will be paid a guaranteed 3 million euros for the first half of the 2025–26 season and an extra 3 million euros for the second half of the 2024–25 season.

Morata, the 32-year-old captain of Spain’s national team, signed a four-year contract with Milan after leaving La Liga rival Atletico Madrid last year for 13 million euros.

According to Galatasaray’s statement, they have a purchase option that enables them to permanently sign Morata for 8 million euros provided they provide Milan written notice by January 15, 2026.

The Turkish club will have the opportunity to extend the loan period until June 30, 2026, if they decide not to exercise the buy option by that date. Morata will get an additional 3 million euros for the second half of the 2025–2026 season if the loan is extended.

Furthermore, if the club gives written notice by June 10, 2026, they will have a second purchase option that will enable them to permanently buy Morata for 9 million euros. Six installments would likewise be used to pay this sum.

Morata will be eligible for guaranteed salary of 6 million euros for the 2026–2027 season and 6 million euros for the 2027–2028 season if Galatasaray exercises the buy option.

Morata joined Juventus in 2014 after starting his career with Real Madrid. He assisted Juventus in winning two Serie A titles, Real Madrid in winning the Champions League, and La Liga and Copa del Rey twice each. He also briefly played for Chelsea in the Premier League.
