Why I Married Shakib Instead of Diamond: Zari Hassan’s Thoughts on Love

When the mother of five disclosed that she had discreetly married her younger boyfriend in early 2023, many fans were caught off guard.

Zari, a mother of five, has been in a number of high-profile romances. Her four-year romance with Tanzanian Bongo Flava artist Diamond Platnumz was one of the most well-known.

There were many ups and downs in their relationship, including accusations of adultery, despite their chemistry and the family they created together. At one point, marriage was discussed, but Zari was still apprehensive.

But in 2022, when she met Shakib, everything changed. Within a year, they made the decision to have an Islamic wedding to formally announce their union.

Zari talked about what prompted her to commit so rapidly when she just renewed her brand ambassadorship agreement with Samsung Electronics in Kenya.

“Shakib is a really kind person, which is why I chose to make it halal with him out of all the males I have dated. When I’m with him, he makes me feel comfortable. “Home isn’t a structure; it’s a place of tranquility, and Shakib is that.”

But there has been some turbulence in their brief romance. The pair was in the center of controversy just months after their wedding after they got into heated public disagreements on social media.

After celebrating their romance, fans were left wondering if their marriage was in trouble.

Zari’s romances had previously come under public criticism. She and Shakib got into a heated dispute during a live social media session in 2023, which sparked rumors that they were no longer together.

They did, however, eventually get back together, with Zari defending their union by claiming that no marriage is flawless.

Additionally, Zari has already spoken up about her past disappointments and heartbreaks, especially with Diamond Platnumz, who fathered two of her children.

She accused him of not being involved in their children’s life after they split up. The late Ivan Ssemwanga, her ex-husband, was notorious for both his extravagant lifestyle and claims of abuse.

Zari appears committed to making her marriage to Shakib work in spite of the obstacles. She’s always complimented him on his ability to assist her and make her feel secure.

They have been seen together more recently, which may indicate that they have set aside their disagreements and are concentrating on creating a future together.
