As Neymar leaves, Al-Hilal want Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah’s most likely destination if he decides to leave Liverpool is Al-Hilal, a Saudi Pro League powerhouse that is keen to sign the Egyptian attacker.

After an injury-plagued stint in Riyadh, Neymar returned to Santos after Al-Hilal recently canceled his contract. Originally planned to leave after the FIFA Club World Cup, his departure frees up team space and funds for a high-profile addition, like Salah.

However, the club is still unsure about whether to make a big bid before the European transfer window ends on February 3 or wait for Salah’s Liverpool contract to expire at the conclusion of the season and sign him on a free transfer.” With a majority ownership in four key clubs—Al-Hilal, Al-Ahli, Al-Ittihad, and Al-Nassr—the league has long targeted Salah.

There is no possibility that the 32-year-old would leave Anfield before the summer, despite rumors to the contrary. FIFA has, however, instituted unique rules for the Club World Cup, such as a “exceptional” transfer window that will run from June 1–10 instead of the usual window that opens on June 12. Al-Hilal could be able to get Salah’s signature sooner rather than later thanks to this.

Salah is still concentrating on Liverpool’s campaign for the time being, but with the SPL’s ongoing interest, a high-profile move to Saudi Arabia is a real possibility in the summer.
