Trump and Putin Are Open to Talking While Ukraine Warns Against US-Russian Negotiations That Do Not Include Kyiv and Europe

Ukraine cautions against Kyiv being left out of US-Russia discussions, but Putin has stated that he is open to Ukraine’s talks with Trump.

One day after US President Donald Trump said he would want to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Putin declared he was prepared to discuss the war in Ukraine.

The remark has sparked speculation about a possible conversation between the two leaders.

Regarding the topic of negotiations, Putin said Russian state television, “We have always stated, and I want to stress this again, that we are ready for these negotiations on Ukrainian issues.”

He did, however, point out that there are issues since Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has issued an order prohibiting talks with the Russian leader. bolster the American economy.

Based on the current situation, it would probably be preferable for us to meet and discuss all of the topics that are important to both Russia and the United States in a calm manner. We are prepared. Again, though, this is largely dependent on the choices and judgments made by the present U.S. government,” Putin stated.

In response to Putin’s remarks, Ukraine issued a warning against any war talks between the US and Russia that do not include Kyiv and Europe.

The chief of Ukraine’s presidential office, Andriy Yermak, accused Putin of having bad motives.

Without Europe, he wishes to discuss the future of the continent. He also wishes to discuss Ukraine without Ukraine. That won’t happen,” Yermak wrote on Telegram. “Putin will be brought back to reality unless he returns to it.” In the current world, this is not how things operate.

Zelensky accused Putin of trying to “manipulate” Trump’s peace aspirations in his nightly social media speech.

“He seeks to influence the President of the United States of America’s aspirations for peace,” Zelensky stated. “I am certain that no more Russian manipulations will be successful.” Putin, who launched the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, is committed to extending the conflict and “manipulate the leaders of the world,” he added.
