Tanzanian musician Burns a received luxury Mercedes as a gift

Prophet Geor Davie presented the vehicle to Goodluck Gozbert in 2021.

Public attention has been drawn to the conduct, and Gozbert has explained that his decision was driven by spiritual considerations.

Since receiving the automobile in December 2021, the artist says his career has taken a turn for the worst. Gozbert revealed in a social media video that God did not approve of the automobile or the meal he consumed at the gift-giving ceremony. 

He clarified that his extreme decision to destroy the car was prompted by his perception that the location where the gift was delivered was inappropriate for him.
Gozbert understood that there would be conflicting responses to his conduct. He acknowledged that certain individuals, such as fans and other pastors, would either applaud or condemn his choice. 

He emphasized his respect for all viewpoints and that he would provide more information on the matter in the future if God allowed it.

In 2021, Prophet Geor Davie presented Gozbert with the vehicle during a ceremony in which the preacher commended the musician’s fortitude and humility. 

The prophet praised Gozbert’s music and said that he was different from other artists. “Gozbert stands out in the gospel music industry because of his character and music, which have been shaped by his life journey, which was marked by significant challenges,” he said.

In addition, the prophet praised Gozbert’s humility, pointing out that while many artists have a tendency to boast, Gozbert’s spirit demonstrated a profound sense of humility and inner strength.

Gozbert first started crying when he received the automobile because it brought back memories of his challenging upbringing and hardships.

But as time went on, he started to feel that the gift was hurting his spiritual life, so he took the audacious decision to burn it. 

He saw this as an opportunity to seek heavenly guidance for his job and reconcile himself with his religion.

Social media has seen a range of reactions to the incident. Some have commended Gozbert for putting his spiritual convictions ahead of worldly possessions and praised his dedication to his faith.

But some have questioned whether it was wise to burn such a costly present, arguing that he should have given the car to a charity instead.

Gozbert is unwavering in his conviction that his acts were essential for his career and spiritual health in spite of the criticism. 

He has said unequivocally that his decision was motivated by his desire to make decisions that are consistent with his principles and his own spiritual path.
