Tyla Takes the Lead at the 2025 IHeartRadio Music Awards for Africa

At the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards, South African pop star Tyla had the most nominations of any African artist.

Tyla’s remarkable versatility and cross-genre appeal are demonstrated by her nominations in three esteemed categories: World Artist of the Year, R&B Song of the Year, and Dance Song of the Year.

The year’s top performers and songs on all iHeartRadio platforms will be honored at the 12th annual iHeartRadio Music Awards, which are scheduled for March 17, 2025.

Tyla’s nomination for World Artist of the Year demonstrates how she broke down barriers and established new standards while introducing African music to a worldwide audience. She was nominated for Dance Song of the Year for her electric collaboration on Push 2 Start, and she was nominated for R&B Song of the Year for the viral success of her 2024 smash track Water.

Swift will also get a special award called Tour of the Century for her “Eras Tour,” while 35-year-old pop sensation Tyla has been nominated for ten Grammys apiece.

With nine nominations apiece, Sabrina Carpenter, Post Malone, and Kendrick Lamar are tied for second place.
