Chris Brown Files Lawsuit Against Warner Bros. Regarding Claims of Sexual Assault in Documentaries

Chris Brown has filed a $500 million lawsuit against Warner Bros. for alleged sexual assault in the documentary series “Chris Brown: A History of Violence.”

For “libel and intentional infliction of emotional distress through defamatory claims made against him in A History of Violence,” the 35-year-old musician has sued the media firms and producers of the Investigation Discovery series.

The series raised allegations that he drugged and sexually assaulted a woman, identified only as Jane Doe, during a boat party on a yacht purportedly owned by incarcerated rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is scheduled to stand trial for sex trafficking and racketeering in 2020.

According to Chris, Jane Doe was “a perpetrator of intimate partner violence and an aggressor herself,” and her claims were “discredited over and over.”

In an effort to defend his name, Chris revealed text conversations that Doe gave him and denied any culpability when Jane Doe’s lawsuit was originally filed.

After her attorney resigned from the lawsuit, her complaint was dismissed “without prejudice” in August 2022 for “lack of representation.”

“To put it simply, this case is about the media putting their own profits over the truth,” the lawsuit went on.

Warner Brothers and Ample LLC have been under notice since the beginning of October 2024 for disseminating and distributing misleading material in an effort to gain likes, hits, downloads, and money at the expense of Chris Brown. Finally, they broadcast “Chris Brown: A History of Violence” (the “Documentary”) on October 27, 2024, despite being aware that it was rife with falsehoods and deceit and went against fundamental journalistic standards.

Chris has been portrayed as a “serial rapist and sexual abuser,” according to the affidavit, even though he has never been convicted of “any sex related crime.”

It continued: “They took this action after being shown that their material was inaccurate and that Jane Doe, the character they were narrating, had not only been repeatedly discredited but was really an aggressor and perpetrator of violence against intimate partners.

“Mr. Although Brown has never been convicted of any sex-related offenses (such as rape, sexual assault, or sexual violence), this documentary makes clear that he is a serial rapist and sexual abuser.

According to the complaint, Chris Brown has learnt from his past transgressions, which he “publicly acknowledged and addressed by him” in his 2017 documentary, “Chris Brown: Welcome To My Life.” Chris pled guilty to the 2009 physical assault of his ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

According to reports, the “Loyal” hitmaker intends to give some of the $500 million in damages to victims of sex assault if it is granted.
